Each quarter, PluggedIn looks at a specific industry by bringing together its leaders and innovators for an informative and scintillating discussion. Awesome things happen at our roundtables as we put together a small group of smart and passionate people together to discuss everything dealing with ecommerce. The goal is simple to connect the most innovative and exciting startups in the ecommerce space with the biggest and best eCommerce sites, brands, technology providers and industry analysts.

On December 21st, PluggedIn’s eCommerce Summit will discuss the innovation that is impacting eCommerce today and in the coming year. From social and mobile commerce, group buying and traditional ecommerce.

The eCommerce summit is a full day event that includes 4 topic specific roundtables with one-on-one networking and meetings in between. The roundtable format is an intimate if not laid back discussion that includes a moderator, participant panel, and guests who are relevant and engaged in the content.

Tentative Schedule:

8:30am- Registration / Networking

9:15am- eCommerce: As eCommerce continues to evolve, this roundtable will discuss the current state of online retail and how companies are adapting to the technology. The conversation will include tactics of efficiently distributing products across multiple channels, driving shoppers to targeted products, and converting shoppers into customers.

10:30am- Q&A / Networking

11:00am- Group Commerce: As it drives new as well as return sales, Group Commerce is an undeniably powerful tool and begs retailers to ask how they can best utilize group deals.  However, companies must remain ever strategic; group commerce can attract massive if not overwhelming numbers of new customers, and we will identify the benefits, negatives, and pitfalls of this platform on businesses of every size.

12:15pm- Q&A / Networking

12:30pm- Lunch

1:30pm- Social Commerce: Social Commerce redefines the buying experience and, when done correctly, connects customers in exciting ways that gives them a voice. This discussion will cover how to create engaging experiences for users as social networks extend into eCommerce. Although most people are not on social platforms to shop, we will explore how retailers can create relevant content that engages customers in order to achieve frictionless eCommerce.

2:45pm- Q&A / Networking

3:15pm- Mobile Commerce: As consumer’s lifestyles changed and they began to embrace the ability to make transactions electronically, Mobile Commerce evolved into a major shopping platform. This roundtable will discuss ways in which retailers can best utilize mobile to engage, drive, and sell to their consumers.

4:30pm- Q&A

5:00pm- Networking
